Tips on water conservation for kids

  1. Make it a game!  Who has the fastest shower gets a tiny reward in the form of candy or 5 mins more of TV time.
  2. Ask the kids to turn off the faucet while brushing as it saves gallons of water long term.
  3. Encourage Showers over Tub Baths, leaving baths just for special occasions.
  4. Reuse towels for a few days in a row. One Less Load of Laundry = 30-40 gallons Water Conservation.
  5. Wash fruits and veggies in a bowl of water than a running tap. Later, use the water in the bowl to water the plants.
  6. Train the kids to avoid filling water in a glass right up to the brim to avoid accidental spilling as well as less wastage since kids can rarely drink an entire glass of water.
  7. Train kids to identify and report any leaky faucets or taps immediately so an adult can fix it immediately.
  8. Awareness is everything. Use the help of videos and fun, interactive resources on the internet to educate children on the importance of water conservation.
